My foyer is a dark green marble and the wood floors on the first floor are 'Golden Oak'. What do you think of staining the treads and upper wood hallway a darker color? The handrail is a dark mahogany color.

finish my own frames for selling my art in Minwax English Chestnut. I'm just surprised at how dark it is since my stained pieces don't show that dark. I want to restain my newell to have some contrast with my floor which is how I found your ideabook :) Did you use Minwax brand? and curious as to

correction to my comment above: the off-white paint used for the trim and ceiling could also be Linen White by Benjamin Moore, however I don't know for sure so it's just my best guess.
work in my projects are all original - many accquired for personal reasons. I think Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams have some of the best art around for it's value.
