I see lots of compliments on the stone siding...but what is it?
Hi Carol. The siding is native Connecticut field stone. It was supplied by Gault Masonry supply in Westport, CT.
My house is also made from these type of river stones. I am always looking for colour ideas, especially on the inside.
The roof was done in a specialty bronze. It really accents the stone work.
Thanks Deanna. This Stone Cottage is actually being used as a Clockwork Studio. Our client is a hobby grandfather clock maker. It truly is a beautiful studio

Is this vintage stone or is it possible to purchase it, and if so where?
The home was built in 1913 and restored recently by our firm. The stone is a Mica Schist (locally also called Wissahickon Schist). While it is available, it is difficult to source. You could try contacting eastern Pennsylvania quarries. We wish you luck on your search

real Aga stove. This is a love-it-or-hate-it appliance — or actually, it's a furnace. Developed in England and made for cooking and for heating stone houses, these models are constantly creating heat and have no controls. You will need to know when to push your pots to the right parts of the heated surface
South Cove Residence
Olmstead for the Vanderbilt / Webb family. The site design attempts to soften the formal, classical character of the house with a minimal approach to the landscape. The stone and wood house is sited to enjoy both the southern and westerly views while integrating within the rolling agrarian landscape. The
lakeshore. A simple, yet elegant bluestone terrace bordered by perennials and a low stonewall, creates a space for entertaining on the south side of the house. Large trees of 8" and 10" caliper were planted to add a feeling of maturity to the landscape while creating a sense of intimate scale. Photo Credit:

Located in a neighborhood of older homes, this stone Tudor Cottage is located on a triangular lot at the point of convergence of two tree lined streets. A new garage and addition to the west of the existing house have been shaped and proportioned to conform to the existing home, with its large chimneys
storage and expansion area above, which may be used for future living/play space. Stained cedar garage doors emulate the feel of an older carriage house.
What stone was used on this exterior. Looks like a blend of a couple types
Because of the difficulty in matching the original existing house, the stone is a blend of Indiana Limestone in a buff color, plus various miscellaneous pieces from the supplier's yard. We are not certain as to the specific stone mix, percentages, etc.
Stone Residence 1
A traditional house that meanders around courtyards built as though it where built in stages over time. Well proportioned and timeless. Presenting its modest humble face this large home is filled with surprises as it demands that you take your time to experiance it.
We love your house and were wondering what the floor plan looks like.
what is the stone used on this house?
I see you mixed stone and brick. What is the color of both?
How does the porch on this house vent underneath to prevent the wood on the porch decking from buckling
The understated beauty of the roof shingles blend so well with the stone. Can you please tell me who the manufacturer as well as the colour of the shingles? Thank You in advance!
