Faux wood blinds are recommended if painted binds are used.
If you are going to use a painted wood blind, you might as well go faux. Nobody will be able to tell the difference. The wood blinds shown here, by the way, have a top treatment that conceals the roll and clutch — always a good idea!

are a vinyl grasscloth by Ralph Lauren. Unfortunately, it's discontinued. Ralph has a few other vinyls that are similar, but I'm sorry he dropped this from his line.
venetian blinds like at mom's house. I HATE them in bedrooms and I hated twisting the wand in Naperville for FIVE different sections. However, Mom has a cord that pulls and they close without all the twisting.
