row of trees between our home and the vacant lot....but the ideas here of plants on perimeter of yard are nice. And should we consider a small iron fence between field and revene, to keep the ball in yard?

The high point is at the bridge/porch extension. Therefore the bridge does not actually span water but has the illusion. we directed drainage flow to both ends of home and than into more elaborate stream beds and falls and outcrops as it flows through backyard which has about 25' of drop.
was a 70's ranch style and we changed the front porch by extending the covered bridge 90 degrees from existing porch. They have significant drainage issues and the dry stream is to allow for some infiltration and to direct away from home.

different types of drainage mats. What are you using it for planters?. Roof membrane? Against exterior wall? if you could be more specific I can direct you. Thanks
any kind of direction on how to search for a drainage mat would be appreciated
Cold winters are not a problem. If anything it is
is the harsh UV rays over time that breaks down turf. Canada...no problem ...company is called perfect turf.
great idea to have it at the other end of the yard looking at your house so that your view from the house is also more friendly
The small yard looks big. Looks like my yard.
I like the idea of having a patio off the kitchen sliders, then grass, then another patio at the back of the yard for lounge furniture

The stones "riverbed". I want that in our backyard, where the drainage ditch runs through.

Bridge to the back section of yard.
the perfect garden party. In spring, when the garden is in full bloom, keep the table flowers simple and fresh, using a palette that complements the yard without matching perfectly. If the posies come from your own garden, all the better.

I like the idea of using rock at the bottom of the hill to channel drainage to the sides of the yard where the drains are.
looks like this would solve drainage problems.

try Thompson Building Materials, RCP, or KRC. The important part of the ocnstruction is below the pavers. You have to determine how much water your yard receives and how much your soil can absorb. In our case we had to build a reservoir below the driveway to hold the water while it soakedinto the ground
Debris was not a big issue here. The nearest tall tree was 50 yards away and was an evergreen. This area is mostly evergreens and palms, so few leaves to blow onto the roof. It rains under 20" per year here, but does
out to the perimeter of the roof overhang and to the nearest gutter. Additionally, installing an ice and water shield under the shingles in these problem areas is always a good idea.
