kinds. The Kashmir is interesting. It's in my children's bathroom, and they splash a lot. If the counter gets very wet, that spot will get temporarily darker. It's kind of neat-looking actually. Within 5 minutes, it's back to normal.
I've had black granite and both my husband and myself found if hard to keep clean. I had to buy granite cleaner to use on it daily in order to eliminate any streaking. Going to build a new home and the first thing we agreed on was not to do black granite.

I would love to do this in my kitchen. Are the granite and tile the same depth? I'm not sure I will be able to get a thinner granite to avoid a "lip or a step" when the tile and granite are flush up against each other. Is there any

for the thickness , I would personally prefer it to be smooth ... The approach with a thinner sheetrock could work . I myself would just have the granite fabricator grind down the thickness of the material and make it exactly what you need.

The ceiling height is just over 11'. Upper cabinet height was approx. 50" without the crown at the top.

one of them might end up being what you want. You should visit a granite supplier/ distributor to look at full slabs and choose your exact piece.
Sandstone is much easier to scratch than granite. Granite is the most durable option on the counter.

Very few "veining" looks sleek, simple, easy to clean; love the slab back splash especially!! Caesarstone!!
