matching "wall" (the one by the desk) on the other side?
Love this design - we have 12' 4" to work with - one end has a 24" deep refrig and would need a wall or refrig panel, the other end we are thinking of leaving open so the wall and ceiling would form an L in order to have a large enough island -
rid of a wall in between our current galley kitchen and the dining room, creating an island, and are thinking of putting cabinets like these with glass on both sides above the island hanging down from the ceiling with a 3in molding on top. The idea is to retain extra storage for our glassware while still
thought the wall we can view in this photo is flush with the desk - in other words there are two matching "walls" and two equal doorways on either side of the island? (to left and to the right)

previous photos, or you can use materials so similar that they minimize the change and have the same feel. In this home, the interior hardwood and the decking material are the same color, but the hardwood has more shine. They are both laid the same direction and the tracks for the sliding doors blend

Love the walls- how can I replicate that in a Long Island home?
Is there a comparable wall treatment to get that look?
These walls are 12" thick, double faced "island stone" walls. The blue and brown stone is a very hard rock found in the Virgin Islands. Between these we have included pieces of old brick, shells, and coral. This style of stonework is a interpretation of the old colonial stonework of which there are examples
these walls are not easy to duplicate...
dreams? The walls are spectacular, as is the ship. I love the windows--all that light, along with the breezy and elegant chair covers, really balances out the impressive weight of the stone.
