Hi, can you please tell me the paint color of the door. Exactly what I am looking for.
What kind of palm tree is on the right side of the door?
what is the name of the succulents under the palm on right. Can they weather zone 8
the name of the fig like tree on the left?
match one of the old tiles found on the house.
Thanks so much for answering my question. I really appreciate it. I absolutely love the tropical look of this landscaping design, wish you would post the entire yard, I bet
That is a heliconia on the left. it has red and chartreuse flowers.
The glass panes on the door in addition to the color of the wood are wonderful. The plants around are perfectly simple additions as well.
OutsideA turquoise door looks so beautiful in a tropical setting, but it can work beautifully in Chicago as well.

Love this idea for a city house with neighbors so close. Clever way to create more privacy.
patio off back of house with grass
note use of separate outdoor area for hot tub
and make a large one for everything
Hate the house, etc but like the idea of the pool house and kitchen, studio forming a courtyard
it's a screened porch and a hot tub, but not at all what we're after.
YES, YES, YES! This backyard is perfect! Just take out the spa (and surrounding screen) then replace with fire pit and bench!

glamour of the expansive estate that lies behind it, allowing the house and its views to unfold in a restrained progression. Photo: Mary E. Nichols
beautiful for a garden entrance or backyard entrance thru a gate
Pergola Gate out of wood timbers
Trellis made of tree trunks and limbs
combination of the rocks rising to meet the timber arbor. The shape of the arbor is particularly interesting. Maybe combine this with adornment [ala the wooden dragon] that incorporates familial crests?
slatsResult: A natural look for a classic architectural element.
More ohia wood posts create the main property entry. Have a tropical dream house of your own? Please post a photo below!

A tropical outdoor shower with small, smooth stoned floor and stone slab wall
shallow niches? Maybe too late. I love the3 color of these stones. That is what I see for you!
I like the pebbled stones and also the color of the stones on the wall
Fun idea for out by pool
nice (on a smaller scale) in the corner of our back yard. Especially, if we matched it to the gate on that side!

I"m looking for shingles exactly like this - any idea where they are from? Love the rustic look of them...great fireplace too!
height of hearth and height of mantle-thanks!
It's a stone quarried out of the Dakotas. Different suppliers name it different things...kind of a silly thing they do to protect their sources. Show the image to your masonry supplier and I'm sure it will be a different name than I have. It's available in thin veneer though this is all 6-7" thick
swing the doors back. Great idea!
We prepared design sketches for the fabricator: a talented local metal worker. Every fireplace opening is a little different and that affects what you can do with the door type and attachments. Contact us directly if you would like copies of the sketches.

what type of palm are they?
bought a home that sits on a corner with a huge front & side yard. In the front there is a huge Oak tree that sits atop a slope. The slope area is nowhere near as large as the picture, but I love the design which I will customize to meet the smaller size of my slope. Thx again!!!
Becky did a feature on rain chains a while back and I got inspired by it. Below is a picture of my home with the rain chains that I added. For me, they are like adding jewelry to your home :) and you will notice mine are copper tulips with a verde gris finish. http://www.houzz.com/photos/610186/Land
