what type of wood is on your island? it is beautiful!
Would love to know the thickness of the countertop. It appears to be much less than the standard one and three-quarter inches of most wood countertops. I was wondering if perhaps the edges are tapered? it appears very light and makes the island not so ponderous as is usually seen.
Its actually a maple butcher block with a stain. I have found a great butcher block company that i have been using now... Qwinique. They have many wood species to choose from. this was a less expensive option but it won't wear as well
Wood tone vs painted white vs painted green.
Soften the look of a painted island with woven chairs. They have natural appeal and go with everything.

Thank you! The wood flooring is called Tiger wood and it is a sustainably harvested lumber product.
The Tiger Wood is a 3/4" x 5 1/2" wide tongue and groove plank with various lengths ranging from 4' to 7'. The floor was nailed down, sanded on site, and finished

'knuckles' in the bamboo, but, its actually a 'wood like tile', not bamboo. Amazing product. Many color options. Perf! But. Would it look okay to have two different colored hard floor surfaces in one home? Not to mention the fact it's a bamboo and wood-like-tile combo?! I chose light for the majority
I have light carbonized bamboo as the main flooring in my 1,000 sq/ft home. The living room, kitchen, dining and hall (all connected). I want to put wood in the three bedrooms but not the same light color bamboo that I have in the majority of the house. I am having difficulty finding a complimenting color
the wood walls and bookcases- love the faded wood.
wood left natural looking AND the wing chair with the leather and cloth combination
