Echoing the color of the echeverria, an antique Thai fish waits anxiously for a splash of water from the nearby fountain basin.
Succulent Fountain Garden and Fish Statue
Water flows over the edges of this antique Chinese urn into a collection pan that drains through a copper pipe, travels across the deck, and empties into a concrete basin.

The new terrace leads down to an original lookout point created in 1931 by Paul Thiene. Fresh concrete has been carefully matched to the weathered tones of the original materials. Philodendron monstera drapes over the staircase, while succulents slowly creep into the crevices of the deck.
