Instead of monogramming your stockings, why don't you personalize the stocking holder instead? I love the idea of using a favorite photo to indicate which stocking belongs to each person.

These are the stockings that my family owns (red with green trim and green with red trim). I love that these stockings are a good size and that they're not too elaborate or fussy. The velvet texture is just the right touch. After all, you want your tree to steal the show, not your stockings.

This woodsy twig tree might look right at home outside, but bring it indoors, and it's suddenly an unexpected twist on a Christmas tree.
Use it in a country home or to add some nature to a more stark interior.

For me, a Christmas tree is all about the ornaments. If you have a large ornament collection, you'll love making them the stars on this unusual tree.
Go traditional (as in this scene), or choose a more contemporary palette. Better yet, mix it up every year.

I bought these faux sheepskin stockings for my children a few years ago, and they are stunning. I prefer the white on white with the black monogram.
Price varies by size from $19 to $24.
I've been looking for something like this for the outdoor entryway, but I haven't been able to find the perfect size or shape. I like the curves of this one, and I like the fact that it's not round like so many of the others that I've seen. I think it would add just the right amount of detail to my front entrance.
