An extra wide door is a nice and expensive touch. Remember the scale of the house is important. An extra wide and tall door would look silly in a small bungalow.
Gain a shaft of natural light. This very narrow window abutting the corner is so much more interesting than the usual drywall.

Welcome the sunlight. If you don’t already have windows in the space, consider having one installed. Ample natural light will create a cheerier and more inviting space.
8. Add weather stripping. Stopping drafts around windows and doors can be as simple as adding lengths of inexpensive weather

Range of colours - even red door fits in
meadows in the 1920s. Instead of the traditional brick walls with windows like its neighbors, the house is a layering of painted planes with large openings, both windows and doors. Columns, railings, nonstructural posts and even window frames are the lines rendered in primary colors against the planes
planes in the foreground are white, getting progressively darker as they recede to the interior. A horizontal plane serves as a sunshade over the windows of the living-dining space, though it seems to be more important in terms of the house's three-dimensional composition of planes.

8. No window treatments; no problem! Create a statement in minutes using plates, platters and bowls. Hang them on either side of a window or door. You will need to purchase plate holders from a home improvement store. I had a client who did not want window treatments in her dining
dining room because her son had allergies, so we hung a plate holder on either side of her window, and used brightly finished plates. The corrugated exterior walls serve a structural purpose, but nevertheless nearly 30 openings are cut into them for windows and doors. Here we see four of these openings, all of which were located to connect with neighbors, yet avoiding face-to-face meetings with them.
