expert! Pine is soft. If you don't mind that scratched up, rustic look, it will work for you. But it does take a number of years to look purposefully worn out. White Oak is harder and my firm uses it quite a lot.

about pine is that it's relatively smooth, so it can look good when painted. However, if it's knotty that can look iffy (can take away from the smooth, clean look of painted cabinets). Also, if they are already finished, that could affect how well the paint adheres. I would be careful if you are thinking
