that it's always fun to see a different take, such as this richly stained wood. While mounting it vertically would have given the feel of traditional paneling, its horizontal placement makes it modern.

How was the shelf installed? How is it supported?
question. The walls are horizontal "nickel-gap" wood boarding. Each wood board is a 1 x 6 (3/4" x 5-1/2").
This was custom made. It was cut from a Norway Pine that had to be taken down on the home's site
Living room - leave wood color maybe?

Is the pine stained or just poly?
Do you anticipate future issues/maintenance by leaving this pine raw?
New construction home with pre-sanded t&g pine on entire walls and ceilings. I have tried to research and see some articles indicating
No issues other than the pine will yellow with age. As long as there is no rapid change in moisture it should be fine. Climate will play a role. Hope this helps..

Can you tell me is the ceiling yellow pine or white pine?
I'm trying to reproduce the look you have here and would like to know whether the pine used in the ceiling is yellow or white pine. Also what did you use to finish the wood? Thank you so much.
