about the planters at the 2012 Southern Living Idea House. I just looked at the resource guide, which lists fabrics, paint colors and products, but the planters do not seem to be listed. Very similar to front porch. Sconces, big lush planters, oversized overhead light. Nice alternative to topiaries for symmetry.
oversize planters, antique-style light fixtures and a crisp white exterior paint made this the most saved farmhouse photo uploaded in 2013. Like the style of the planter boxes
Lightweight planters could be out on outdoor patio at west end
Another great idea--letting red fountain grass, salvia and sedum grow wild in planter boxes. They look great as a formal planting in these black planters

Questions10
Are the planters "flow-through planters", thus part of the stormwater management system for the building?
Flow-through planters are a great way to retain and filter stormwater during heavy downfalls, which help reduce the stormwater that enters the over-taxed sewer systems during peak storm events
if the planters will crack due to weather with time? was color added to the concrete of planters?
events. Planters of this design could easily serve this function as well as looking great.
concrete planters were not colored, but they were sacked to fill in the holes from the concrete pour. As the NW climate is moderate, there should not be excessive heating or cooling that would encourage the concrete to crack. In addition the concrete planters were designed with rebar to reduce the amount
