Thank you for your question about the planters at the 2012 Southern Living Idea House. I just looked at the resource guide, which lists fabrics, paint colors and products, but the planters do not seem to be listed. They may have come from Ballard Designs, though

An idea for easy watering is to set up a system so that any rainwater from the roof is directed to the planter. To answer your question
about protecting the porch and/balcony. There are a few membranes and waterproofing applications which can be used within the construction of the planter. This allows any moisture or dampness to go into the ground and not into the wood. Wood treatments are also important. Hope this helps.

Hi. These planters are from a company called IAP. You can check them out at iapsf.com They are fiberglass with metallic paint. Nice light weight planters but a bit pricey. These I believe are 24"w x 60"l x 18"tall and are around $1,400 ea
