reed like plant along the concrete wall?
How is the horsetail contained and watered in this design? It looks fabulous in such a small area.
what is the plant along the wall on the right
we would like to know the name of the plant on the right
The botanical name is 'Equisetum hyemale' Unless it is planted in a container DO NOT USE IT. It has very aggressive roots that will go 30 to 40 feet and is very invasive. A very contemporary look but HIGH MAINTENANCE if not in a container.
Horsetail. It needs to be contained as it spreads.

I used two round containers, approximately 14/16 inches diameter, made my flower arrangement and inserted one in each pot. With the lava rock on the bottom and the plants on the top I feel confident
Yes. This container is only about 30" tall and about 18" opening at the top.

What kinds of plants surround the walkway? Will they "work" in Northern California?
this project is located) the location of where to plant Irish Moss should be considered carefully. In S. Cal, pick a semi shady area, ensure good drainage, plant as tight as desired (it's not a fairly fast spreader), and mix with yournchoice of plants along the edges..
(sorry, accidentally pressed 'submit'.... Re: Irish Moss' To be successful, plant in a fairly cool / shady environment and make sure the soil is loose & well draining. In addition, make sure your irrigation is zoned specifically for the area's needs. Hope this helps, Drew Sivgals AMS Landscape Design
