with a house, stone stable and traditional wooden barn. Later a smithy was opened there, even later, before the second world war, a village store with an inn was arranged. Today, on the ruins of decrepit buildings a new house with a garden that combines traditional and modern motifs was created. Images

sorry for the late replay, it looks we missed the question somehow. So, to the answer. The shade is simply attached to the existing, high and old walnut tree with a sisal rope on one side and on the house, it is attached with a standard metal clip, usually used for climbing (look in stores for mountain
k you for your answer. Yes, it is metal profile - graphite powder coated. It is attached to the ground and to the wall (before the facade and paving were done!). Blooms of Color!
I would like to know what all of the plants are in this picture.
Is this on a slope and what kind of soil do these plants like? Thank you Edith Bond
Thank you for the quick response. Will this garden do well in Baldwin City, Kansas? We have a slope that we would like to landscape with some of these plants especially the yellow yucca, but we are in zone 5A
It's a slope indeed. All plants enjoy well drained soil, and a
a frost free environment. Some of the heavy hitters of this composition are Yucca 'bright star', Senecio,Leucadendron 'Pisa', and kniphofia thompsonii.
aloes - for front? Tall and skinny!

construction for the landscaping around this beautiful home! The builder, Baumann Building (http://www.baumannbuilding.com/ ) would be of more assistance. Thanks for inquiring, though!
This was a custom remodel for a private residence. The builder was Baumann Building.
This plant should do fine in zone 6, probably not much higher though. In West Michigan, we are considered zone 5/6 depending how close the site is to Lake Michigan... I've attached a picture showing the same site with the Solidago in winter. Hope that helps!
How does this plant do in zone 6? What

ahead and plant them for your fall garden. They’re hardy plants that don’t need great soil; they can handle full sun or light shade; the newer hybrids are shorter and more compact than the rangier species; and most of all, when planted in a group, they provide a beautiful golden swath of color that’s a feast

is good for around a fire pit in this picture, like the ground cover between stones
My first impression? What a sensuous garden!
Big grasses with flowering plants mixed in
It was a fun tapestry to weave, and this was definitely a peak moment :)
An idea for the pathway from my backyard to the shed
like stone mini walking paths - good for front yard
coastal planting bed is filled with color, both from the perennials and the grasses. It's also filled with plants. The overall look is a blend of cottage and traditional, a nice mix for a home garden and certainly up to handling coastal weather.

names of plants in this arrangement?
Does anyone know what the lower trailing, greyish plant that goes to the ground is?
silver plant is Lotus maculatus (common name Lotus vine or Parrots Beak) It can have orange or red flowers. Here's a link for more info on the lotus vine http://www.portkellsnurseries.com/plantdb.php?id=1556 I hope this helps!
I can't tell the specific varieties, but looks like a hot pink Coreopsis
trailing plant could be an artemesia (perennial).
Looking at the tiny picture on my phone I am going to say its some silver mound artemesia trailing out of that pot. Silver mound gets a little leggy in the shade, which looks to be the case here.
yellow) for living room. Blue walls, coral, chartreuse and maybe a little purple and yellow. Also could look good with red for Christmas.

location. We planted Rosemary officinalis 'Prostratus' and Acacia redolens as slope stabilizers in this project.
Love the idea of a little sitting area
A clearing to sit under the trees
Patio area without retaining wall for "tree corner".
This is a nice little getaway neat and simple
nice to have a big tree to sit under
nice seating area for the patio outside the kitchen
property, in a somewhat natural section. Don't plant lawn or ground covers under existing old trees; this encourages root diseases. It’s also better not even to pave the soil surface. Trees that you plant generally withstand garden watering better; try to avoid summer watering. Mulch, gravel or stones undeneath

triangular gardens. This circular garden might not contain beds of vegetables, but it gets its design inspiration from a humble monastic potager.
If you're going for grand, then this is the way to do it. A traditional knot garden provides plenty of color out front and vegetables, herbs and cut flowers
