but we removed the existing pantry to open it up further. There is a load bearing column which remains intact that was behind the pantry. This is what informed the design of a cutout/ window opening rather than a fully open passage from the kitchen to the dining area.

have to remove the outside stucco to get to the brick underneath or is that fake brick placed on top?
stripped to remove the paint from the bricks in the past but it usually means that the mortar in between the bricks needs to be re-pointed as well so it can be quite a can of worms.
