Concrete Fireplace...board-form process(200 years ago used
concrete instead of rock - clean/cool wood wall
this fireplace was created by stacking up plywood to create the forms, then concrete poured in, forms removed, very nice look
Beautiful use of concrete on the floors and fireplace surround
The concrete’s texture on the towering fireplace comes from an old-school board-form process from 200 years ago, Collins says. Various sizes of plywood are stacked up, creating a form that’s then filled with concrete. Once it has hardened, the boards are ripped away, exposing the grain of the wood detail
on the concrete.Rain screen–style fir wood panels make up the interior walls. Here they're placed over drywall that's been painted black.

cabinetry, concrete custom built by Built Inc.
This fireplace was created by forming and pouring concrete over the existing brick veneer. It is about 4" thick and the lines you see are from the form work joints. We intentionally limited the amount of vibrating when pouring to allow there to be air pockets in the finished surface for more character

Love the acid stained, poly treat concrete floors and the coaches set in front of the fireplace
Love the idea of a concrete or large tile surround in the basement

that fireplace limestone? concrete? it's beautiful.
What kind of stone is on the fireplace wall?
Will you please tell me what materials were used for this fireplace wall?
for my fireplace wall to be similar to this one. Can you please share what this material is and where it is from? Thank you so much for your help!
The form for the concrete was wood and concrete was poured into it. The wood was removed after concrete dried and that is what gives it a bit of a wood grain look.
board-formed concrete, with its natural finish.
Fireplace wall is poured in place concrete in it's natural form.
