AIA Custom Residential Architects Network

Business Description
We all know the stereotypical architect. He’s the one dressed all in black, wears Le Corbusier glasses and lives in an all white house. He (and yes, it is always a man) tends to be thin, gray haired and well heeled. He’s portrayed as the inflexible and autocratic Howard Rourke or as the sycophant Peter Keating. The projects he designs will be over budget and unbuildable. And woe is the homeowner who hires him.

But this isn’t the reality. Architects are accessible, creative problem solvers who work on projects that range in size from a bathroom remodel to a new home. Just look at all of the beautiful homes on Houzz. Many of these simply wouldn’t exist if not for the teaming of a homeowner with a dream and an architect with the skills to transform that dream into a home.

So the Custom Residential Architects Network, a knowledge community of the American Institute of Architects, encourages you to contact an AIA member architect when you’re considering a project. Whether big or small, plain or elaborate, a tight budget or anything goes; an AIA architect can help to guide you in the right direction to get you where you want to go.
