studioFleming is a design studio committed to providing creative and successful solutions to a broad range of design problems. The studio emphasizes excellence in design and execution.

Understanding that the right questions lead to the right solutions, a thorough examination and analysis of each project starts the process. Listening to the client and the program becomes the basis for solving the design problem. There is no preconceived design aesthetic or outcome but the design solution is allowed to emerge from a careful study of all elements of the project. The conditions of site, program, objectives and budget constraints becomes the framework from which the design emerges.

Collaboration is crucial to achieving the desired results. The studio seeks strong input from the client and a strong collaboration. Ideas and concepts are challenged and discussed. This dialogue is vital to a successful design solution. Strong collaborations with contractors and builders are utilized and encouraged.

Awareness of the human experience defines and reveals the work. Each project is seen as part of a larger sphere. Design solutions are realized through light, form, material expression, elegant proportioning and crafted detailing. Sustainable design practices and materials are integrated into each project as appropriate to the design.

Diverse projects of varying scales are enthusiastically undertaken in a variety of areas from furniture design to interiors to exhibition design. Furniture and lighting design continues as a passion and an outlet for a creative exploration of materials and ideas.

Alan Fleming started his design practice in San Francisco in 1988. studioFleming is rooted in building spaces and crafting furniture. Combining an art and architectural education with general contracting and cabinetmaking, the studio work is focused on realizing lasting functional designs of substance and emotion.

The art of building is merged with the art of design. The studio brings to each project the culmination of these experiences and studio principal Alan Fleming is personally invested in each project.

Award winning design work has been recognized in numerous areas: Architecture, Furniture, Art Commissions, Painting and Printmaking.

Commented: Love the shower curtain. Where was it purchased? The curtain was purchased by the owner at a local big bath store. The track and sliders are 'hospital track' that can be ordered online and then custom length chain of your choice.
