It is porcelain tile, 12" X 24", but I'm not sure of the exact brand/color, as this job is now 4 years old.

Concrete tops are done very differently, from one fabricator to another. The ones we supply do not have any issues with staining and/or rings. Suggestion: ask to "test drive" the concrete - try some wine, lemon, tomato sauce, vinegar on a sample and see how it reacts before you order it...

Here are two 'different' options for countertops. GlassECO, from Fisher Recycling, is a custom, recycled glass counter top that comes in a wide variety of colors. Below are two countertops, and a detail of one of our favorites, a green glass finish. This is a great option to add an eclectic element to your project, and is also environmentally and budget friendly. Charleston Forge is a more traditional, yet beautifully unique approach, using hammered metal and hand-planed wood to make custom wooden pieces that are truly remarkable and one of a kind. They offer a wide variety of finishes, and also offer quality leathers and glass tops. Below is a tabletop they constructed.

milky6973 - don't listen to "everyone"...
We all have great friends, that when it comes to our projects, will be glad to sick there 2 cents of wisdom. Unfortunately, they all have nothing but warnings... - "don't do this, it will stain...", "don't do that, it will scratch...". The funny thing is that when you visit their house, they have the exact thing YOU shouldn't do...
Yes, wood floor is a bit less practicle than porcelain in the kitchen, but that is not a reason not to do it. You can always get it re-finished every 5-10 years if it gets scratched. On the plus side - it's a bit softer on your back, warmer to walk on and to look at and... you love it!
Good luck and tell "everyone" to do porcelain in their own home ;)
