With a passion for architectural design and building, Rick Hendel started Hendel Homes in 1995. His experience has included many roles, from laborer to carpenter to field supervisor/project manager and eventually to business owner. Rick so thoroughly enjoyed this experience in the building industry that he stopped pursuing a medical degree after receiving his B.S. degree in biology from Bethel University, and devoted himself completely to learning and studying architecture and home construction. His desire to build beautiful residences and provide clients with the highest level of value, architectural authenticity, and craftsmanship while maintaining integrity, led him to create an exceptional building company.
Rick believes the uniqueness of Hendel Homes lies in the architectural cohesiveness of melding the design elements and the construction detail with the needs and desires of each client. He has been fortunate to be part of the design process on many new custom home and renovation projects, which gives him the ability to envision, depict, and build the vision of the client. In client meetings, Rick will often bring out his pen and make rough sketches of anything from exterior architectural detail to a unique design to add interest to your project, all with the ultimate goal of creating a one of a kind, timeless design for your residence. Rick grew up in Burnsville, MN and Eau Claire, WI. He enjoys playing hockey, hunting, traveling, and spending time with his wife Amy and two children. His love of traveling is shared with Amy who is a designer for the company. They enjoy studying architecture locally and abroad, gaining inspiration and new ideas to incorporate into the building and design process.
