paugeri I just started growing tomatoes in pots as I just don't have enough sun on my wooded property. Last year it was almost Oct. before I got any real pick able fruit in my zone 5 CT deck! Any ideas on what grows fast, can take less sun, and does well in pots? I stopped growing from seed as they just don't mature fast enough no matter when I start them!

Steve Masley Consulting and Design Choose cherry or small-fruited salad tomatoes, which fruit earlier and require less heat to mature fruit. Tomatoes need about 6 hours of sun a day to set and ripen fruit. Plants that get less sun tend to be leafier and more prone to diseases.
