My design philosophy: Every child deserves to wake up in a room that makes them smile.
January 2013 I painted for Enchanted Makeovers in Detriot at Genesis House. Twenty one rooms were loving transformed into spaces for growth and healing in this shelter for women and children. Featured in Mercedes Tabana II's book "Creative Marketing for Creative Businesses" published December 2012 and available at amazon.com. This fall I will be featured on Sheryl Borden's Creative Living Show on PBS.
Painted murals and furniture for Josh and Katie Hamilton's children on several occasions. Josh plays Major League Baseball for the Los Angeles Angels.
I have been expressing myself through art for as long as I can remember. Bold colors and shapes have always moved me especially on a large scale. i have been traveling and painting for building companies, designers and private homeowners painting custom murals and decorative artwork since 1995. I love collaborating with homeowners and designers to create unusual and unexpected artwork or faux finishes. Scenic artist on several movie sets including "A League of Their Own" where i learned aging and distressing techniques that I still use in my faux finish work today. asicengineer Some people are worried about leaks into the basement and I suppose that this could happen, but at our house we have a pool right up against the foundation and yes our basement has flooded, but never from the pool. It has flooded from a hurricane, from a broken pipe, and from a laundry incident which is why we have tile and cheapo area rugs down there so damage is minimal. It is a basement after all. As far as the pool goes, our contractor put in a layer of pink foam to separate it thermally and physically from the foundation and of course made sure that any rain or snow overflow would be on the side of the pool away from the house. Actually in that way the pool acts as an exposed 'french drain' that prevents any water from touching the foundation, even during the hurricane.

jlwms123 We bought this antique dresser off Craigslist to use as the vanity in our remodel. It was covered with black paint and had oriental decals on the drawer fronts. I had no idea what was under it until I began sanding and saw the beautiful veneer. Major happy dance to be sure. It's well protected and I'm very careful when cleaning it. The most nerve racking part was cutting into the top of it to recess the vessel sink. You only get one shot but I'm glad we took it.

hopingtogetfit Recently repainted our walls with BM's Ballet White (and Dove White in a few other rooms). I am absolutely in LOVE with both whites, especially the Ballet White, which has a slight gray undertone. It looks like a soft linen color. My wood floors, furniture, artwork and accessories now stand out so much better.

pandawolf Thank you ma'am..its Christeena lol...i just love the font and will work perfectly with my black and white damask pattern we chose for the babies room. Plus we are doing ours on reverse of yours. Instead of green we found a pale blush pink for one stripe (satin paint) and pale pink rose (flat paint) the other with tiny black lines between the colors...a dark espresso wood for a high chair rail and egg shell walls.and we are using dark espresso furniture for the nursery as well. But i want to use a black frame and 3 different but close colors of pink parchment paper for the fonts above the crib (MMR) Mable Matilda Rose and with black ink i think it would look amazing, would pop the pink colors just enough to look elegant and very calming for a nursery. My husband wants to use the greens but just add either girl or boy accents to make it either gender...lol but i am a cowgirl and not prissy so i think this would shock everyone to see a soft pink in the room...rhanks so kuch and i just love the nursery you created is just breathtaking and inspiriational.

thebsquared01 Kalm B&B (www.kalm.co.za) in Clarens, South Africa is any design minded travelers dream. The owners are an interior designer and a landscaper. Each of the 5 rooms is decorated differently and Karen and Malcolm are the best B&B owners I have come across.

Anita Roll Murals Amy what is the size of your room? You could go down to 14/7. I personally like the bigger stripe with the smaller in this instance and feel it helps the room not be too busy. It is a personal choice really. Make a few measurements and put some painters tape up to get a visual to see what feels right. I highly recommend using yellow frog tape for your stripes.

A. Peltier Interiors The Jonathan Adler wallpaper is one of my favorites! I have used a similar wallpaper with dogs for one of my online nursery designs that I did. I think a whimsical wallpaper in a nursery is the perfect way to add a touch of fun, color and pattern!
