We bless the day we retained Bea Doucet and Jim Davis to help us refresh the look and feel of our large house. Bea quickly assessed our own preferences especially those of Pamela’s; nonetheless, Bea exercised a firm hand in redirecting some of our dumber ideas [mostly Hamish’s] and saving us a lot of money by avoiding big mistakes. We are in our mid seventies and wanted something in keeping with our contemporary home but were unable to make decisions on our own. The result is beautiful and completely within our comfort level. Bea and Jim were able to redeploy many nice things we already had and used them in ways we had never thought of. Our house is now much more livable and Bea has been able to enhance our own unique taste in a lovely way. There is no sense of generic decorating. That is one of many compliments we can pay to Bea and Jim. On top of everything they are delightful people and we always have lots of laughs whenever they come over. We depend on them now for advice on smaller matters as they come up.

I recently renovated my city condo, my third major project with Bea. I wanted a modern look and she delivered! She gave me an accurate estimate of project cost, and kept me updated and on track as it progressed. The reason I choose Bea and her team is knowing that I will be completely satisfied when everything is done. She is professional, creative and passionate about her work. I had a wonderful experience working with Holly! She listened carefully and respected my ideas, but she didn't hestitate to steer me in the right direction if I veered off track. Holly has been helping with several projects (kitchen and basement design), living room, family room and bedroom makeover. Her work is exceptional... She is very talented and knowledgeable in creating a modern space by combining her experience and the clients needs and like. I won’t do anymore Renovations or upgrades without her recommendations and help.

Denise Johnson, DWD Interiors has done a number of renovations for us over the years. Recently we transitioned from our home of 19 years to a much smaller home for our retirement, Denise has done a wonderful job decorating our new home and we are very comfortable. We are very happy all her decorating and design recommendations including new floors throughout, new light fixtures and crown moulding and paint throughout. Denise is a master with colours. She decorated the propane fireplace in the great room with wonderful floor to ceiling tiles. Selected perfect window treatments to coordinate with the decor in all rooms. Selected awesome wallpaper for the entry and for the powder room, beautiful cabinetry and quartz for the kitchen island and for the powder room, designed a lovely pantry cupboard. She has done an excellent job reflecting our taste. She has excellent working relationships with the contractors she works with which is essential to achieving the quality we are looking for and holding to a reasonable timeline. The main bath is just underway and we are excited about the design. I highly recommend Denise for your home decorating and renovation projects. She is very pleasant and easy to work with, very responsive and patient.

We just built our dream home and didn't want to mess up the interior space by trying to do it our selves So we called DWD interiors Holly knew just what needed to be done... She helped us every step of the way she was so easy to work with , her ideas fantastic and she was always accessible she took so much pressure off us our home looks amazing !!! We will be calling on Holly again in the spring when we tackle the our door spaces..

Bea has been a pleasure to work with on multiple projects to date. She has helped us to find a vision for both our new home and our previous home. Both times we were impressed with her ability to identify our own personal wishes, while we often were not able to articulate them ourselves. She worked to a variety of budgets depending on the project and this level of accommodation and customization was wonderful. Whether it be a kitchen update, or a major construction job, Bea and her team were invaluable.

I worked with Denise Johnson and had a wonderful experience. Denise was quick and efficient and came up with ideas to make my house into a beautiful home.

Our hope was to change the feel of our home from the warm earthy tones of 15 years ago to a light airy feel reflective of our seashore location. Denise Johnson understood our vision and was able to use colour, room arrangement and new more modern pieces combined with some of our best loved pieces to give us the feel we were looking for. Her knowledge and help were invaluable.

We are currently working on our third project with DWD interiors. The first was a new construction penthouse condo, the second an older, oceanfront home with good bones but little else at the start and we are currently renovating a 12 year old condo back in downtown Halifax. Each project has had its own challenges but Bea, Jim and their team have met or exceeded expectations every time. Bea has nudged us outside of our comfort zone on occasion and we have always been glad that she did. Not only does she bring incredible ideas to us but is also always eager to work with concepts that we have presented. Downsizing can become overwhelming ,frustrating and very tiring until you engage with top notch designer Denise Johnson who makes all this stress melt away . Choosing paint colors , mixing old items with new , picking just the right lighting , including family treasures with modern decor , dressing windows and being wowed as you enter the foyer ....." no task too big or small “for Denise . She comes highly recommended , a five star choice !

As always working with Bea and Jim was a pleasure! We renovated the main floor of our bungalow, opening up the kitchen and living space to an true open concept. Working with Bea lets you feel confident in your decisions and know it will all come together to be better than expected (even during the most stressful times). Bea brought ideas we hadn't thought of and made lighting, tile, and fabric choices a snap (making these decisions was the best part of working with Bea!) Helped to keep us on time and (mostly) on budget...we knew when we were deciding to upgrade! Thanks for making the project a success...we love the new space.
