About Us

Heritage Salvage reclaimed materials and wood have been handcrafted into beauty in homes around the greater Bay Area and beyond. From flooring to panelling, ceiling treatments, rustic beams and beam wrap to cabinets and kitchen islands, repurposed materials bring warmth and story in to your home. Located in Petaluma, California our three-acre yard is home to reclaimed building materials, flooring, wood slabs, hand hewn beams and more. Heritage Salvage team handcrafts from reclaimed materials in our custom-build wood and welding shop. If you can draw it on a napkin or show a picture, Heritage Salvage can build it.

Heritage Salvage helped us create many wonderful additions for our home that we've been remodeling...multiple live-edge wood counters (half bathroom, computer nook in TV room) as well as a beautiful dining room table, and also a frame for an old large mirror. We had a blast picking out the woods and deciding on the what to do. They really helped us add a lot of beautiful, unique character and charm to our home with natural, salvaged woods that have wonderful stories.

We wanted a rustic, extra long farm table for our outdoor dining area. Heritage Salvage had a nice variety of slabs and materials to choose from, and they were easy to work with in designing and fabricating our gorgeous redwood slab table and matching benches.

When we re-did our house, the first thing we wanted to do was reclaimed hardwood floors, so we went to Bug. It was a very DIY project and we didn't know what we were doing. Arann sanded and sanded and sanded and I think we love our floors even more because we did it ourselves. As you can see (see photos) it didn't take us long for us to put our own mark on the wood. It is wearing beautifully and continues to be the first thing people notice when they enter our home. Whenever we have a project, at home or at work, Heritage Salvage will always be our first stop.

Heritage Salvage has the best selection for creative minds! They have repurposed wood and building materials that with some creativity can used in spectacular ways. We had some salvaged dimensional fir lumber from chicken coops used to build our 10 foot dining table and it came out fantastic! The craftsmanship from the Heritage Salvage woodworkers was top notch. We can now host our friends and family at the same table. We could not have been happier with the selection and the creative process!

We decided to replace our vanity top in our guest bathroom with something that would make the small area pop. After seeing several wood pieces that Heritage Salvage had built for businesses in the Petaluma area, we knew this was the direction to go. I worked with Chris from idea to completion. I gave him a quick description of my idea and he took me directly to the Hawaii Norfolk pine. What a beautiful piece of wood and even more beautiful, once installed in its finished form. Chris and Heritage Salvage were wonderful to work with and very responsive to all requests. I would always recommend them and their products!

We live in a 150 year old warehouse with a massive brick facade and original walls. Unfortunately, the flooring in our loft was cheap engineered, "hand-scraped" (ha ha) crap that didn't do the surroundings justice. Enter Heritage Salvage, with Douglas Fir shiplap flooring salvaged from a grain elevator in Washington State. There's just no substitute for the real deal. Now that beautiful brick facade is matched by a floor that could have plausibly been there when tall ships sailed San Francisco Bay. Absolutely stunning to look at and a treat to walk on in bare feet. This was a big, messy job performed with speed and care and a minimum of disruption at a price that was more than fair. Thanks Bug! You and your crew are the best.

Wonderful experience! I had ordered a pre-made kitchen island I felt would be too large. I went to Heritage Salvage not knowing what to expect, but sure a custom island would be out of my budget. They said they could make me something for the same price I was going to pay for the other...and then worked with me to design something exactly to my needs and specifications. It was a very fun experience. The best part is the wood is from a pre 1906 earthquake building in San Francisco, where I grew up. I love that the heart of my kitchen has a story!
