Business Description
We are a remodeling company that specializes in kitchen, bathroom, and whole home remodels in the Baton Rouge, LA and surrounding areas. Our motto among our team is to be dependable in our service and thorough in our craft. We strive to bring value to our clients in accomplishing projects with a high finish standard and quality details that will ensure results that are worthwhile.

I've always enjoyed working with my hands. I stumbled my way into construction early in 2000 and it was about the only open door in a career path of many slammed doors. This "door of opportunity" in the field of remodeling seemed to open wider and wider the more I stepped in that direction. Early on I recognized the value of partnering with skilled craftsman like my brother, Brek, who could perform on projects with professionalism. Since the early days we have continued to grow every year and are thankful for the skilled craftsman that have made the decision to join our team.

At Spencer's Contracting we have ambitions to stand out among the top tier of remodelers. We remind our team regularly that to build trust and distinguish ourselves, we at Spencer's Contracting must strive to be dependable in our service and thorough in our craft. We ask that you will contact us for your remodel project.

FWIW: I completely DIYed my 2600sq.ft. home after it was closed in back in '84 (used 4 mos accumulated vacation & comp time!), and I've added 800sq.ft. over the years.

This time, I re-did 1st floor 900sq.ft....MBR, bath, laundry, office.....DIY stripped to studs and sub-floor, spray foamed 120' of outside walls(contractor), DIY rebuilt and rocked 240' of wall, relocated elec & plumbing, 320sq.ft tile floor/580sq.ft. wood floor, added two thermo windows, replaced/added walls and 2 doors, added new 1/2 bath plus doubled size of orig bath, new tub, tile/glass shower (2,250# tile and all radiant heated), built 5 custom cabinets, new double sinks, toilet, and all new elec/lighting......approx 90% DIY with advice & a little help from pros.....did it for a little more than your quote----took me the better part of 17 weeks of M-F......now that all's said and done, pros (including a pro designer) tell me my time was worth +/-$35K----and I'm not anywhere near a metro area or cost factors.....even though I have NO intention of selling, designer & former appraiser says I increased total home value by well over $150K.

I'll grant you---if you don't have at least basic skills & equipment, the time, energy, & determination (and an entire finished/complete 2nd floor w/bedrooms and baths to live in), YOU are probably better off farming it out!

But the truth is, if you can replace plumbing, elec, and small tile job, you COULD DO the big job and cut the cost by at least half!

Wow, neny! It sounds like you did a LOT of work. It's awesome that you added that much value to your home.
I just found out that my electrician friend's father is a master carpenter and I think he might be willing to help out with some stuff. If not with labor, at least with some advice and guidance. So that should help me with some of my bathroom renovations.
