Only if they have removable liners. Realistically, who keeps that many potatoes, onions, etc... anymore. My mother had these in a kitchen my father designed for her way back in 1960. What goes around...

Hello,

If you are looking to modernize it then you could go with a light blue or coral and taupe walls. Or you could even stick with white walls.

Don't be too discouraged about the wood trim though! You can make it work. If you absolutely hate it then you could always take it out (it may be a little more work though!).

Hello,

You could either do a lighter blue OR go with a light tone of peach since it would compliment the blue nicely!

Studio- she was a rock for me when I was in school and I am trying my best to be here for her but sometimes not being there just sucks. I am checking in on her daily. I too wish I could give her a hug.

Hello!

How about some flowers along the driveway? Or a tree that has bright colors that bloom?

Hello!

How about a change in the rug? How about blue? And we would paint the walls a light tan.

Hello,

Adding some white and trading the dark green curtains for a brighter and more modern colors would brighten up the room and change it! Possibly coral?

Rhonda, SO glad to hear from you! Sounds like you've been one busy lady - although, you were before, with your project! I know - a different kind of busy though. Glad to hear you're still cake decorating. I think we all miss you, too. Hopefully you'll be back when you get those stairs done (but we'd love to hear from you anytime)!

Hello!

We like that idea! If you think that black and white is too much of a contrast then you can always go with a dark grey, which would look lovely as well!

I would also definitely remove the shutters. I think all white would look great with your gray roof. Here is a sample:

HI - Your thinking right ! I would not have the shutters . Just paint the whole house white and then a color any color on the door. Don't even have any accent color around on the window frames and such as most people want to do. But I would add to the window frames instead of having shutters . I would however paint the roof edge (fascia) charcoal / black and the rain gutter but not the down spouts. This will give the house a nice modern clean lined look. Then re-fresh the landscaping . I would get rid of the hedging on the right and plant more of that ornamental grass that you already have in front or a mass planting of day lilies for color .

Hello!

Why not paint the fence white and the garage a light tan? That way they won't take away from the house, which is adorable!

Just wondering, are you planning to reorganize the chimney, garden and stone tiles? I'm asking because that could greatly improve the affect of the changed fence and garage.

Hello!

Your home is gorgeous regardless! Mortar washing the brick would help though! It would definitely bring more correlation into the picture because right now the brick sticks out too much, like the two were from different houses then put together.

A big tree in yard on brick side. Would add interest. You might hire a landscaper, to help with a better design on your front yard.
