The sink in my laundry room came with my house. It is from the 1940’s I believe. It is made out of porcelein with a washboard front and metal base. I’d try Craigslist or a resale shop in your area.

@ awhite023 - The map is from National Geographic. @ nrrdgurl - The sink came with the house but is my favorite part of that room. It is porcelain and even has a washboard front! @ hetherini - My door squeaks more than rumbles. It doesn’t bother me since it is downstairs but if it were a bedroom or bathroom I’d probably grease the rollers a bit.

@jamesnreeb - The sink was original to my house. I’d try Craigslist or resale shops for a porcelain washboard sink.

I did one of these barn doors a couple years ago - picked up an 8' solid door at an antique store, then widened it to the size I needed with some painted sheet metal & tubing. The track was probably the most expensive item, but with the weight of the finished door it was worth every penny!

Thank you so much for posting this project. I have been yearning for proper built-ins for our family room for years now but always thought it would be cost prohibitive. Your project has shown just how approachable it is.
You did a wonderful job on the design and finish. It looks like it costs 10 x what you paid.
I am now energized to get ours done.

The wainscoting on the wall is actually faux board and batten. I just placed trim pieces directly on the wall to create the pattern I was looking for. Everything was then painted white to look like board and batten.
