Daniel and team at Pitch and Trace removed a brick wood stove surround/structure and replaced it with an amazing stone masterpiece. The utilized a piece of old cedar from the back yard to fabricate the mantel, made custom stone corbels for it, built the elevated platform for the wood stove and finished it to perfection. Work was done in a timely fashion and clean up was good.

We hired Pitch and Trace Stonework to build an outdoor shower base and connecting pathway to a hot tub. The company owner, Dan, provided great advice on stone choices and pricing, and was integral to the design. He provided us with a clear and detailed cost estimate and a timeline for starting and finishing the project. We are thrilled with the completed work - it is beautiful and more than we had imagined. He and his crew were professional, extremely skilled and finished as promised on time and on budget. Pitch and Trace not only has exceptional technical skill but an artistry that sets them apart. As someone who works in design I was very pleased to meet Daniel and have him do my own home fireplace stone hearth and an intricate stone heat shield that does not just protect the pre-existing wood surround but actually becomes an integral part of the whole. Daniel ( and his two fine helpers) took stone to the detail level of woodwork!

I've hired Dan numerous times to help me with building and installation of large scale art installations. These projects can take a week or more to install, normally 14 hour days. Dan is the first on site after me, and he is one of the last to leave. He works hard, is focused and if there is something which does seem right or is a little off, he asks about it. Dan has an eye for detail which most people would miss, but which make the project look like a million $. He is my first pick always and I highly recommend him to you. Professional and courteous.

I hired Daniel to lay granite stone on my townhouse patio. While not a large space approx 160 sq ft it required the removal of an existing concrete slab as well as slate stones. Daniel was on time for the initial meeting as well as all scheduled work days. He was always polite, courteous and professional. He kept me informed when things did not go as planned and consulted me throughout the project to ensure I would be getting the patio I wanted. He responded to all of my questions and offered informed suggestions related to various aspects of this project, all of which I heeded. He completed the work ahead of schedule, and under budget. He left my space tidy and laid a beautiful patio for me. Daniel and his brother Matt took on a project to renovate our back yard, side yard, and front pathway. They did an outstanding job making a previously derelict yard look absolutely stunning. By reusing some flagstone that we had, and cutting and reshaping it into a new patio, they were able to create a dynamic and visually incredible space. They laid the flagstone patio, rebuilt a pond with rock facing, hauled away an old fence and replaced it with a new fence built out of sturdy recycled cedar, introduced a gate, added a stone pathway to the front yard and planted the surroundings all within a couple of weeks. The results are professional-grade, and long lasting. Daniel and Matt went way above and beyond what we were expecting. We'll be in touch with them again for more work in the future, and I can recommend Pitch & Trace for anyone looking for quality fine craftsmanship, attention to detail and all around fantastic customer service.
