If you are spec building or remodeling for resale in an average subdivision, I think potential buyers like brand name cabinets, even if the quality of construction is not that great. They will settle for cabinets with nice fronts and inferior interiors simply because it is a "good brand."They seem to like cabinets with popular brand names.

If you're building the kitchen in a luxury subdivision, then those buyers would most likely appreciate the quality of custom, although not always.

onthefence My vote was for custom. I will say though if it came down to brand name, I'd want to know WHICH brand name. I don't think all brands are created equal.
