    Domain Design The contractor I used, Real Industrial Furniture, most likely glued these 12 pine boards together and then stained them. However you can barely tell these are separate boards - it looks like one big piece.

    tyrooks Does anyone know if it's a problem having the TV installed over the fireplace?

    Domain Design No, there were no issues with the components or TV getting too hot from the fireplace, as the fireplace contractor had guidelines to follow for this type of installation (and all of them should be able to tell you what those exact distance needs to be). To be safe you would want roughly 18-24" from the top of the fireplace to the bottom of the TV. In addition, having a mantel deflects direct heat to the TV too.

    Domain Design It's custom made by Real Industrial Edge Furniture - this particular mantel is comprised of twelve (12) 1x6 pine boards, which were then glued together and then stained. The mantel is fastened to framing behind the mantel using rebar.
