No brainer for me! Carpet with stair rods, then it is the best of both worlds!

I'm with you Hannah. Carpet great for comfort and sound proofing, but painted stairs do look gorgeous.

Do you mean for the walls? The walls are Skimming Stone by Farrow and Ball. The cabinets are not Benjamin Moore.

Hi - we are installing woodmode cabinets that are Nordic White. I want to match the paint color for my crown molding and casings around the room. Do you know what paint color and mfg would match the Woodmode Nordic White?

Do you have any other countertop space in the kitchen? I often will use the space around my stove in addition to the island for prep. That would give me a better idea of how to answer.

That's probably plenty! I wouldn't sacrifice symmetry for the 4' of space if you have other areas. But that's just me!

Thank you so very, very much. I can't tell you how much your input has helped me. This is my first remodel, and it's a complete gut, addition, start from scratch remodel. So many decisions! I looked again at the plans and actually the space on each side of the stove is closer to 4-feet. You've really helped ease my mind!
