The front door is a medium/dark stain. If you look in our album titled "Libertyville Custom Home" you will see other exterior photos that include the front door. Thanks!

The flooring in the office is 2-1/4" red oak. You don't see much of it in the photo. If you are asking about the flooring that is in the adjoining foyer, that is "Caithness Graphite" from Chadwick's Surfaces.

Unfortunately this project was completed several years ago and we no longer have the paint color records. The tile is a 3"x6" subway tile in "Biscuit" with beveled edges. Several manufacturers offer a tile similar to this one. You can find it in a matte finish and a gloss finish.

bead board is typically MDF. That would be a horrible idea for a back splash. So if you HAD to have it there, then find it in PVC.

Local mill work suppl is where to look first

Good Luck!

There are also tile options that give the look of beadboard. Make sure to think about how you use your Kitchen and what type of maintenance you want to have prior to selecting a material.

The primary colors that you see when it is installed are blue and grey. That being said, lighting plays a large roll in the way that colors look. Be sure to look at them at different times of day. Seeing them outdoors is also important since it won't be seen under bulbs as you see it in your home.

madisonct,

Concrete can hold up great.

Two main things will contribute to its durability.
1. Concrete mix design
2. Sealer used.

Our modern concrete mixes are approaching the density of granite. These are technical mixes way beyond the DIYers or even tradesman that have worked with concrete here and there.
Sealer technology is great now and it continues to advance.

From lower grade to higher grade concrete sealed properly you could expect to see a range of protection from 3 to 24 hours from staining agents and acids. Most staining agents whether mustard, vinegar, or wine will dry out by 12 hours. If you are fastidious and clean things up promplty then you have no worries. If you entertain and wait until the next day to mop up then make sure you get a high performance concrete and sealer.

If you like the patina of use then just wax the surface once in a while and have at it.

Regards,
Vincent Cathcart

Thanks for the response Vincent! He is correct. Concrete will hold up well as long as your installer educates you on the products that he is using & what you need to do to maintain the tops. A good sealer is key!
