Residential / Commercial Architect About JLB Design, LLC: Design Approach: I work on residential, commercial and retail projects of all shapes, sizes and budgets. I have a hands-on, collaborative approach to design. I value client input and enjoy working together with property owners to arrive at design ideas that serve their environmental, cultural, spatial and budgetary needs while paying specific attention to existing conditions such as the building's design, physical and structural layout and those all-important views. I truly believe that everyone should have the ability to work with an architect and so, from schematic design and design development all the way through to construction, I try to create a feeling of client empowerment where communication is always open and immediate. It is my deep belief that good architecture and a successful project comes from a truly open relationship between client, architect and the contractor. Licensing: I am an NCARB registered architect (NJ & NY) and a member of the American Institute of Architects, a LEED AP (Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design - Accredited Professional) and a proud supporter of the Institute for Classical Architecture & Art.

Jason at JLB Design defines true professionalism. Not only is he extremely detail oriented and efficient at his work, he is also the epitome of what one would look for in design work. He cares about his projects to an extreme. Consistent follow up to ensure his clients are happy with the end result. We found Jason after knocking on the door of a home in our neighborhood that had recently been redone, asking for their architect’s number. We wanted to draw out plans for a large addition to our cape and get an idea of how much this project would cost. Since the first phone call, Jason has been great to work with. He is always available to answer your calls / emails (he was our first call after each time we left town hall!) and is prompt with turning around work. We went to several builders to get estimates and each commented how detailed the plans were and that they were some of the best they had seen. When we needed a revision he quickly updated and sent us new copies so we could get them to the town. On a personal level, we really enjoyed working with Jason. He clearly enjoys what he does, has great ideas from years of experience and is easy to speak to. We have recommended him to our neighbors also doing an addition and would use him for any future projects - although hoping this is our last one! :)

Jason of JLB Design, LLC is bringing our home to fruition. He is creative, caring, conscientious and professional, and he made us feel as if our project is a priority. He took the time to understand me and my family’s needs, the style and feel of the house, and he worked with us to develop our plans. My wife’s and my opinion were met with equal concern and empathy. What we believed to be a home renovation has turned into a home-rebuild project. Since we were new to the home-building process, he assisted us in gathering the appropriate paperwork and representing the project to the town. Working with Jason has been easy, and if ever we had a concern during the project’s construction, he responded via text, email or phone (even while on his vacation). Our General Contractor has told me on many occasions that he likes working with Jason; he shows up to the worksite and is available to answer his questions. In an industry where a layman could find him/herself lost and taken advantage of, Jason of JLB Design LLC has proven to me that they are knowledgeable, honest and customer-centric. I would highly recommend him to anyone for their architectural requirements.

We hired Jason Ballinger from JLB Design in October of 2018 to create a covered, open porch over our existing deck and re-design the 2nd floor of our colonial style home. This renovation involved pushing out the back of the home to incorporate an approximate 18 x 18 covered porch. The porch will support a master bath, master closet and a guest bath. Jason also reworked all the bedrooms with all new windows and created a beautiful hallway that did not originally exist. Jason was professional, extremely knowledgeable and always available to answer our questions. He was also very creative while remaining focused on staying within our budget. His design work is beautiful and we are extremely happy with the final architectural plans. Working with Jason was beyond professional. From the first time my wife and I met Jason to the last time he was always punctual and extremely personable. He listened to what we wanted for our basement project and provided input along the way. Jason provided us with very detailed drawings and a 3d color printout in a reasonable timeframe which was promised to us. The designs were everything we asked for and Jason also made suggestions that we found very helpful and we also incorporated into our plans. It was a non stressful experience and we highly recommend Jason and JLB design.
