OasisDesign&Remodeling Paint it yellow !!! Yellow & pink are a great combo, & will pick up the yellow tones of the floor. Prime first with Kilz to inhibit mold & mildew, then use a good eggshell paint. Get some Clorox Clean Up spray & spray the heck out of that mold & mildew!!! (I'll bet it's behind the wallpaper too). I would do a white matchstick blind on the window for some texture, a white wicker basket under the sink as a hamper, & a white "hotel" shower curtain (kind of a waffle weave). Small baskets in the counter to contain the clutter. DEFINITELY replace the light fixture to a 3 light. Replace the floor with a simple white tile if you can. A white frame around the mirror would be nice. Keep it simple & pattern-less, but add that texture!!!

When you can though, I would replace the pink bullnose (cut out with a dremel tool) & replace. When you get to replace the vanity & tub, don't be surprised if there's a mildew issue in the tub area, which may call for a tear out to the studs & perhaps replacing affected framing. Just as an FYI.

Iris Design Studio If you paint the walls white, remove the curtain and add light wood color Venetian blinds, and change the flooring to light wood, or light wood linoleum it would look much better. Use light green modern accessories and carpet and get the modern metallic up and down mirror light.
This would look great with the nostalgic pink you have. For decoration you can use some green vegetation, like a small green plant in a white pot.

OasisDesign&Remodeling I like Nancy Reese's second rendition A LOT. I would paint the gray a shade darker though & the door a bright yellow instead of the red. Remove the hanging light & install one (as she has in her rendition) to the right of the door. More colorful plants in front of the boxwoods. No to extending the deck!!! Yes to changing the carport supports to sturdier square posts. Those slanted windows bother me the most...if you're going to spend any money, I'd replace them with a single long & narrow window with no window treatment...or take them out entirely. No matter what, the vertical blinds have to go. It's a very cute house...REALLY!!!

sissy49 Okay, you've got a midcentury modern house which any number of people would kill for and you want to make it traditional? Can I ask why you bought it in the first place? You've definitely been offered some good advice on colors and landscaping that I hope you're willing to take. Please please please don't denigrate this mid-mod by trying to turn it into something it isn't.

ReSquare Architecture + Construction @Margot: Great eye to see that Mission Style vocabulary in there!

I was just going to say that the only eyesores are the big shrubs and the skinny posts.

The only reason I could see to NOT do the posts is if that style does not sell well in your region (check with a RE pro). Then there's reason to ditch it and take a different course, but those solutions will all cost more than simply finishing the posts in the current style.

Acorn Landscaping Hi Paula, the client we installed this for actually bought the statue before they found us. I believe it was purchased from an auction or garage sale. Aquascape Inc. offers an abundance of Water Features for small spaces.
