Business Description
At SALA we believe that our client collaborations transcend the idea of style.

We strive to create thoughtful, timeless, and creative solutions to architectural design that connect people with their community, with nature, and with a sense of place. At times this means we are responding to the historic fabric of a home or community, and at other times we are creating fresh new forms that relate to function, purpose, and climate.

We work with each client to understand their needs and aspirations, and use this knowledge to create uniquely crafted solutions for their lifestyle.

Sorry, that was an antique light fixture. Not sure if there are any more like it out there somewhere.

Wood was plain and rift sawn white oak. Stain color was a custom mix to match existing woodwork in the house.

The tile was nemo 1" unglazed hex C-27 terra cotta, which we got from Tile by Design in Plymouth, MN. Grout was #341 "Brick" from Hydroment.

Pocodot: we are using boiled linseed oil and garnet shellac on our woodwork. It's non-toxic, dries quickly and has a beautiful luster on cherry. It's also easy to fix should it get damaged, which is unlikely, and requires only regular dusting--no wax or polish.
