woofwoof Whatever budget you come up with, there will always, always, always be things you did not account for, even when you work with an architect or a kitchen designer. So figure on having some extra money for those things. Layout and storage space, in my opinion, are far more important than whether you use quartz or marble on your countertops or stainless appliances. And for what it's worth, a nice cabinet depth fridge is just as functional, and sometimes more so, than those "built-in" models, and you'll save thousands of dollars in the process.

slimrigger A couple more in progress

slimrigger I remove all existing doors, drawers and hardware, fill in any spots needed and sand, then using a contact cement I install the laminate on all sides and face ( sometimes even underneath) router edges, file to smooth, and then install new doors and hinges that are ordered as well as new drawer boxes, rails and faces for drawers. It's a fairly quick process and if careful enough could be done by yourself but would recommend calling someone that does it as easy mistakes can be made, thanks and I hope this helps

Jennifer Graham_Rateliff I still would like more feedback on the question: Do people who have (and love) banquettes also have a formal dining space???

bbnoehr I am fairly new to Houzz and really appreciate the discussions that emanate from the photo ideas. The great impetus for the major kitchen remodel on which we are about to embark is built in bench seating to replace counter seating. When we visit family in Germany, we love the cozy comfort of sitting around the table on an Eckbank! I basically decided not to have storage built in underneath for foot space but am trying to decide how to angle the back rest. And, yes, we do having formal dining space as well.
