Kate Jackson Design

Hailed as one of ”RI’s Hottest New Designers,” Kate Jackson exploded into RI’s interior design scene over ten years ago and has not slowed down since. Kate’s passion for design and intuitive connection with clients has become a core philosophy in creating successful living spaces.

Kate Jackson listens closely to her clients and translates their needs to achieve the end result: a beautiful living space, pieced together thoughtfully. Kate’s approach to design differs from other designers in that she has the unique ability to seamlessly meld the old with the new, using furniture and finds discovered at antique shops and consignment stores complimented by stylish accessories found anywhere from eBay to high end boutiques. This juxtaposition creates a welcoming home that reflects each client’s individual style. The result is a tailored, modern departure from predictable cliches of New England homes.

Kate’s design practice is featured along the east coast in elegant urban residences in Providence, Boston and New York, as well as in casual summer retreats from Watch Hill to Newport county. She has also designed model showrooms for commercial projects including loft spaces in restored mills and contemporary high rises.

Kate resides in her home state of RI with her husband Bryce, daughter Stella and twin boys Oliver and Bennett.

Rebecca Jelfo Auctions are the best. I've gotten some really nice pieces and very reasonable prices ( absentee bidding). One place estate auctions. Pook and Pook auctions is excellent everything eventually comes up for sale. Even a pie chest I bid on (lost) but cool stuff.

marilynwilliamsclark Bamboo flooring is beautiful, but be aware that it will pit and get scratched by even very light wear. High heel shoes, and small pebbles caught in the underside of shoes can ruin it. It was not cheap and was a good grade of bamboo. Also I found that any item dropped on the floor can cause it to crack.

oldie49 Installed bamboo flooring through 3 bedrooms and upstairs bathroom and we love it! Light is reflected making all the rooms bright and it is so easy to keep clean. Best decision ever!

ribsoo6 Thank you so much everyone for the wonderful idea's and advice. My home was built in 1907, but a more modern fireplace was put in about 5 years ago and we are just about to reinstate a traditional large wooden mantel, so hopefully that will keep the heat away from the T.V. Love the painting idea!

Perfectly Placed for You I don't have a mantel over my fireplace, but I do re position my chairs as tip # 10 suggests. Not only does it allow for more movement in the space, but it allows us to gain full access to the sliders/deck. However, this year I may try adding an urn in front as well. Thanks for the great ideas.
