Yes, the sunroom is the addition, and we opened up a wide entry in what had been the exterior stone wall. An architect or structural engineer can help you get it right. We're wondering, what's Tamaqua stone?

Pinkish stone otherwise known as "Pennsylvania Bacon Stone" from a quarry in Tamaqua, PA.

Ah, the stone is Wissahickon Schist, common on older homes in northwestern Philadelphia, PA. It's gray with some mica in it, so a little sparkly. There is still one quarry that carries it: Wissahickon Stone Quarry LLC.

Thank you. I wonder how this stone compares in price to let's say "brick"? I expect just as/more expensive than brick. I live in S. IN. I like this stone, but looking at it for landscaping application: retaining wall application. Wonder if it would it be applicable (not as porous as let's say brick?)
I've talked to a landscape designer over the last month or so. As you may realize southern IN is covered w/limestone quarries. Limestone is out of my budget for this application. I'm leaning toward a "poured concrete retaining wall". One reason is, my home exterior is busy enough in it's brick exterior. I want the concrete application for its wall function and have landscape material that minimizes the focus on the wall in a sloped front elevation. I asked about this stone initially - just because I've always liked it when I see it in home exterior finishes. Thanks for taking the time to "listen and share" ......LOL

Unfortunately we don't have that info, the homeowner chose it directly with the contractor.
