Lift and Stor Beds I have a friend who lives in a very similar apartment! We were able to improve storage space in her home by getting her a hidden bed http://storagebeds.com/products/hidden-beds which is in the living room area as a work desk - but can also turn into a guest bed whenever she needs it!

Kelly Is the floor laminate? It's hard to tell- it looks in good shape. What about it don't you like?

    A. Peltier Interiors I would add in the enchanted or ballerina theme in just your art and accessories. So search online, etsy or art.com and find some art that you like. Then start to work your room around that. Find bedding, drapes and a color palette based on this art and your room will look pulled together. Good luck and what a fun project for you and your daughter!

Lift and Stor Beds An idea that kids love when they're young because it's "cool" and when they're older because of its functionality is a hidden bed! http://storagebeds.com/products/hidden-beds Or if you need more storage room for her toys, there are storage beds as well http://storagebeds.com/products/storage-beds

decoenthusiaste I use a pocket OTD rack for socks. Could be handy over the bathroom door for undies, hose, anything you'd don after a bath. Consider putting your chest against the wall and wall mounting the TV. That would allow you to put a shelf and basket system on the wall that runs beside the bed, just for storing off season items you don't need to access.

Lift and Stor Beds Beds are the biggest space invaders in any room. There are actually a few ways where you could turn this into an awesome storage space while keeping it available for guest use. I would recommend a hidden bed http://storagebeds.com/products/hidden-beds or a storage bed http://storagebeds.com/products/storage-beds because these will give you far more storage space and turn your biggest space invader into one of your largest storage space providers!

Lift and Stor Beds Have you considered a hidden bed http://storagebeds.com/products/hidden-beds or storage bed http://storagebeds.com/products/storage-beds for this room? A hidden bed could replace that desk and save space in the room, while the storage bed would be a perfect place for him to use as storage.

katymomof2 I can only suggest to think long-term unless you want to redo this room AGAIN in a few years! Choose a paint color that you both can live with and a bed that he will appreciate now as well as beyond! Time flies, remember. Cityscape could include metal cubbies that can be added or taken away over time. Posters are a easy low-budget addition and/or subtraction and your son can choose them keeping him involved in the 'design" of the room. You can find terrific and inexpensive desk-top lighting at your local big box store. Keep the fundamentals basic and solid and the rest can be manipulated over time! Have fun!

pcmom1 When our son turned 13 we did a room redo. He chose to do 3 walls in one gray and the ceiling in another shade of gray. Final wall painted a red. Now 25 and no longer living at home, but so far have not felt the need to redo this room. It is now a combo sort of place, desk to pay bills, comfy chair for reading, and a twin bed for when son visits. And the look still works, pulled together with the choice of bed spread, pillows and drapes.

Just sayin... if you can't let loose and have a little fun with decor in a private space, such as a bedroom, where can you?

Lift and Stor Beds This room Does have a lot of potential like decoenthusiaste stated. Honestly I think it's a perfect place to put a hidden bed http://storagebeds.com/products/hidden-beds . You could actually do your vanity and your bed in one go!

Lift and Stor Beds I love the nightstands! I agree that it would look great with matching lamps. Another thing you might want to look into due to the smaller size of the room is a storage bed http://storagebeds.com/ next time you're looking at furniture.

katymomof2 Definitely a few pops of color would add a TON (sea foam green or turquoise look great with you room colors). Chandelier would be finishing touch and you would LOVE IT! It would be costly but it may be something that would make you happy enough and therefore worth the expense?

Chelsea Pineda Interiors Bevballew, oops I didn't see that in the feed. Well in that case, you could always buy a roll or two of paper and have a few drops framed and mounted on your wall. That was you can take them with you when you move:) Love what you have going so far!
