The ladies mantel is a dense clump mounding perennial. When it flowers each year these clouds of spring green flowers spill forth. Then you cut them back to the mother clump when they get brownish and shaggy. The neat deep green clump remains. In my perennial bed they literally cover any open space available with start ups. Dig out early! After a few years you could supply a town with lady's mantel....I do love them though..

I love Lady's Mantle and I've tried using them in southern California landscapes and have yet to be successful. ;-(
