My memory is that the cabinetmaker made a shelf that was painted and installed in such a way that you could remove it to access the toilet tank. It's not a product that we purchased for this location, but was custom made for the project.

The posts are steel, welded to base plates that were inset into the concrete wall when it was poured. I'm fairly sure the boards were pre-drilled and attached to the steel with steel screws.

Most people are not detail oriented but when I see something so well done, I am curious about the hidden engineering that makes it work, thank you.

We had a local glass company provide the glass, cut to size, and then the painter painted three coats of color on the backside, then it was attached to the wall with neutral-curing silicon. It is VERY important to let each coat of paint dry fully before applying the next coat, and before applying the silicon to attach it to the wall.

It is a thin concrete overlay, installed on site by a local concrete finishing company. Jennifer Ott, with Jennifer Ott Design was the client, and she would be a good person to talk to, if you are looking for an interior designer for your project.

It's a stained concrete overlay. The house has a concrete foundation, but had wood floor glued to it prior to this remodel, so an overlay is a thin concrete application over existing concrete.

Agreed it's so nice to see non white cabinets featured. They're just not ideal for our growing family. We are building and have knotty alder cabinets going up that are custom stained. Our island is going to be made of white rock with a dark brown wood countertop and we are looking at a scrap place to find a light colored countertop for the rest of the kitchen. I believe our paint color will be accessible beige which seems to be more of a gray color. Love these ideas! Thanks!!
