Hi Ashton,
Need some programming info to make it a space that functions as well as looking good. What's happening in there? How many people are using the space at one time? What are the tech/data needs? (virtual meetings, etc.) How much storage do you need? What type of table top space, seating, "showing off", display, lounging, etc.
You can buy some radical stuff that looks great and end up hating your space if you don't design it for your needs.
Thx,
Lori

The coffee table is a "brick makers" table and is available at Restoration Hardware and other places. The side table is an antique glass bar cart and is unique. Good luck!

Or go through a designer and ask them to shop Four Hands or Noir for you. You'll get the same price, or better and have the aid of a pro on your side.

Buy 8x10 seagrass carpets from Cost Plus or Costco. Just cover the majority of the green with the seagrass and put some indoor planted palms in the corners of the rooms with pink- faux or real flowers (hydrangeas) in vases on the tables and buffets. It will look like the Beverly Hills hotel Polo Lounge colors or Palm Beach and make the green carpet less offensive. The small amount of money you spend on these items will increase your sales price and speed up the sale. Also only use white table cloth and bedding or any fabric with black and white stripes. Emerald green was just the color of the year, so celebrate it!

If you got a color sample, take it to place that sells paint. Many can mix colors together to get your particular color, otherwise, there are many color samples to choose from

Great ideas, thank you! I know we discussed kitchen layout previously. My husband and I have been doing a lot of thinking. We are considering rearranging the basement stairs, so that doorway would now be a pantry and making a cubby next to the pantry for the fridge, this would open up the kitchen much more!

the furniture needs to be grouped in a seating area around the round table. it's odd floating in the middle this way. First thing though: edit, get rid of everything you don't love. Then find an image and style on Houzz that is the same shape/layout of your room and has furnishings you like. Work with what you have to accomplish that look, sell, donate, or giveaway the items that don't fit into that look and replace them with items that complete the look. HAVE FUN!!

I'd line the "walking Path" with potted box hedges to separate it from the driveway. You can then paint a stripe of color on the path to resemble an out door runner.

How do you pickle the walls? I am thinking about painting cabinets white...I will use the KILZ as Patricia suggested! I want to paint the dining room a warm sunset orange to make the white cabinets stand out!
The cabinets were probably not put in right, the rest of the wood looks poorly cut and fitted! It's definitely a fixer upper!
If I sand the staircase and the filler that was put in will it all stain the same or will you still be able to notice the filler? I like the shelf idea! I think shelves would be more functional than these huge deep cupboards! My husband is going to take some persuading LOL I wish "Kitchen crashers" would find me wandering around Lowes LOL

@Lori - Two sofas one behind the other? Our ideal preference is to not have too much furniture - as the room flows only an outdoor space via doors on either side of the fireplace.

With so much of the house exposed, you may wish for a combination of treatments. Moving up the ladder from sheers and film are shades. The photos shows a 3% option in solar shades - anything up to 10% will still give you visibilty, delia's patterned options, and bottom-up shades ( these are Hunter Douglas)[houzz=Levolor Solar Screen 3 - Solar Shades][houzz=Delia Shades' Custom Solar Shades in "Frame Lattice" Pattern]

That door suits the prarie style perfectly. If you were considering architectural changes like the porch, you would want to employ an architect to make sure everything drains as it should and that a new passage to the front entry was well coordinated. There are some great looks here where people have torn out an entry closet / placed back a smaller casework built in to enlarge a miniscule entry .. ..but let's stay one step at a time. Come back and share as you make progress - we love updates!
