Used to rent. Covered the ugly carpets with rugs. Changed everything I was allowed to.

Hi, I'm renting right now, and first thing I did was to change the curtains in the bedroom, and add dry flower arrangements in the windows. Wicker baskets, art, cushions can also add plenty of personality. I love covering many things with twine, like lamp shades, flower pots, vases, shelving rails etc. It adds so much rustic / nautical style. Good Luck!

In addition to painting, if the front door is a plain slab door, adding moulding using a door moulding kit quickly and easily adds a lot of character and curb appeal :)

@Shea Joy - I think turquoise sounds lovely with peach (painted?) brick, but to match the brick correctly (and be as bright as you'd like but not too bright), you may need to go through a lot of paint samples. It's definitely worth it, though! Make sure you love the color before you paint the whole door. Have fun testing!
