I have over 20 years of knowledge from working in different positions on projects, and on many different types of construction projects. In 1989 I started Preferred Standard Interior after studying interior design at the University of Tennessean it was a very successful interior design/ build firm, We had General Contractor license---my company built many (25 plus) high end custom homes, I sold the business in 1998 after 10 years. After selling Preferred Standard, I worked as project manager for B&W Construction, Managing all types of build-outs, Medical, Dental, and Office Condos, Ethan Allen Stores and Hotels. As a NYC SUPERINTENDENT OF CONSTRUCTION Registration #: 021498 (maybe I was the only female in Manhattan), working in a famous Madison Ave 5-Star Hotel, managing the changeover of hotel rooms into privately owned condos, while that 5 Star Hotel was fully occupied, managing some days a hundred workman, deliveries, vendors, and installations of finishes, furnishing, and equipment, while not disturbing the VIP guess. And as an owner's representative managing for one of the largest real estate developers in the South Eastern, at times starting with the All the way to completing all of the FF&E-- managing every course of Action to effectively complete construction project. I maintained a budget and schedule, finishing on time-- it was my job. I have spent thousands and thousands of hours on construction sites, with Owners, Contractors, Architects, Engineers, Trades, Suppliers, and Vendors. I get fulfillment finishing a project, the majority turn out better than anyone anticipated.
