Mark Brand Architecture

Mark Brand Architecture's award-winning architecture and interior studio balances high design with practicality, combining understated elegance with elements of drama. Our firm specializes in quality new homes, residential remodels and additions.

Stylistically, our work would best be described as eclectic, incorporating a variety of influences favoring no single style. Our work ranges from traditional to modern with an emphasis on creativity and problem solving. Our projects are especially noted for their quality of light and orientation to views. Artistic compositions of plan, space and form are enriched by carefully considered color, texture and materials.

Mark Brand Architecture's experience in dealing with planning and building departments throughout the Bay Area and our record of working well with project neighbors contribute to our expertise in getting building permits approved. We work closely with our clients, contractors and cost estimators to control construction costs.

Mark Brand Architecture As I recall it was a standard white toilet, although I know it looks bisque in this photo.

phillipahearn Thanks Mark your design and product is truly beautiful. Is the Stone hard to clean as I am thinking of it in my shower recess area. And could you also tell me the name of the floor tile? Thank you Phillipa!

Mark Brand Architecture This is a guest bathroom which is infrequently used. I wouldn't recommend this tile for an everyday shower. I can't recall the name of the floor tile. Sorry.

Mark Brand Architecture It was already there when the owners bought the house, as was a lot of the original Victorian door hardware.

Mark Brand Architecture It actually is a shoji screen covering a fluorescent light set between two studs. This bathroom was an interior room on the second of three floors, so there was no way to get natural light into it. Therefore we came up with the idea of this faux window.

Mark Brand Architecture I think this one was made here in San Francisco.

Mark Brand Architecture We used "switchable glass." When a current runs through it it becomes transparent. When the current is off, the glass is translucent.
