Business Description
Mark Brand Architecture's award-winning architecture and interior studio balances high design with practicality, combining understated elegance with elements of drama. Our firm specializes in quality new homes, residential remodels and additions.

Stylistically, our work would best be described as eclectic, incorporating a variety of influences favoring no single style. Our work ranges from traditional to modern with an emphasis on creativity and problem solving. Our projects are especially noted for their quality of light and orientation to views. Artistic compositions of plan, space and form are enriched by carefully considered color, texture and materials.

Mark Brand Architecture's experience in dealing with planning and building departments throughout the Bay Area and our record of working well with project neighbors contribute to our expertise in getting building permits approved. We work closely with our clients, contractors and cost estimators to control construction costs.
Mark is a California licensed architect.

I am sorry, but I don't know of any other company that fabricates something similar. You might try calling other European cabinet importers and see what they have. Try Poggenpohl, Pedini and Zampieri for starters.

As I recall, we used 3 coats of Sikkens on all sides prior to installation. It also requires new applications every other year to maintain the look. - Mark.

I don't know where these specific chairs were purchased. They were provided by a staging company. However, these are Barcelona chairs, designed by the architect Mies van der Rohe. You can buy the real thing from DWR.com or just do an online search for Barcelona chair and you will find knock-offs for a fraction of the price.

Hi Jeanne. I am afraid I don't know the color of the granite. My client selected it herself.

Great idea for apartments and high density living. Thanks for description of installation above. How does one avoid seeing florescent tubes - I can see the shoji screen is frosted? but still wonder if thats the trick or is a special type of florescent tube the key.
This is one of my favourite bathrooms on houzz!

Thank you. The shoji screen is frosted. The tubes are t-5 fluorescent, which have a small diameter and are set back far enough from the screen that they don't show. - Mark

The trickiest part is getting the round holes cut in the mirror and not overtightening the light fixtures. I have had several contractors require a couple of tries, with a broken mirror in the process, to get this right. - Mark.

It is 5'-7-1/2" wide. The breakup of the widths for the cabinet is approximately 4 inches for each of the filler strips on the sides, 22 inches for each door, and 15 inches for the drawers. - Mark.

Exactly same width as our current project! Great to see that 2 vanities can work in a smaller space. Could you tell me make and model of sink bowls that fit in the 22 cabinets. Thanks again and really well done.
