HD creates custom mid-range to high-end residential, commercial, event and retail remodel/renovation, new construction, decorating and tenant improvement projects from Sonoma to Los Angeles. Taking projects from design concept to final move-in, HD ensures a commitment to the highest level of service to create beautiful and functional interiors specific to each client’s needs. Our team of industry professionals and local artisans help bring spaces to life with custom designed finishes, furnishings and even artwork.
California native, principal designer and owner, Mark Hermogeno, started his design career more than 12 years ago, unexpectedly through visual merchandising for companies such as The GAP, The Disney Store, Restoration Hardware and Smith & Hawken while earning his Bachelor’s degree in Cultural Anthropology. Remaining in retail after earning his degree, he knew his passion lay elsewhere, but was not sure where until 2003 when he decided to take an “Introductory to Interior Design” class at the University of California Berkeley Extension. After the first day of class, Mark knew what his passion was and he jumped in head first into the interior design world.
Since its establishment in 2005, HERMOGENO DESIGNS has designed a vast array of projects from a 3,400 square foot custom, new residence to the public spaces of a low cost senior housing development in Sonoma to a hair salon in the San Francisco Financial District to two Arthur Murray Franchised Ballroom Dance Studios. HD offers its residential clients custom upholstery and window treatments while commercial and retail services include branding making the firm truly full service.
HERMOGENO DESIGNS continues to garner industry recognition through awards and publications for an eclectic, Californian, contemporary design aesthetic using a mix of deep colors, comfortable fabrics, special furnishings and unexpected finishes. HERMOGENO DESIGNS work has been featured in Design Journal Magazine, Window Fashions Vision Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle and www.tagmyspace.tv. Hunter Douglas and Window Fashions Vision Magazine honored HD with 2nd place in the Wonderful Walls category in their annual Envision Competition 2008. Mark also spoke about his passion for design in an interview for www.juliosol.wordpress.com. Mark will also make his first television appearance on February 9, 2009 on OUT Spoken TV (local channel 11) representing DIFFA’s Dining By Design San Francisco, 2008 event.
Supporting fundraising events and non-profit organizations is an important part of HERMOGENO DESIGNS. HD has donated event design services to HIV/AIDS and Red Cross fundraisers. HERMOGENO DESIGNS uses the power of design to help increase awareness of social causes.
