rcabk I have a new house build that I want to paint with one color for the walls and ceiling, and one for the trim/doors, until I live in it for awhile. Open concept with lots of windows and natural light in majority of the house. I like BM - 1464 "Light Pewter" for walls/ceiling. What finish would be best? What color of white would work best for trim/doors? Open to suggestions. If this will help.....dark, hand scraped wood floors, Dura kitchen cabinets in a soft gray - "Silver Mist" (no upper cabinets, lots of windows for views), soapstone counter tops in kitchen,white farm sinks, all other cabinets in house are "Espresso" color that are put with lighter color of carpet or tile. Color scheme is soft grays, greige, soft whites, soft taupes. Love to use pillows, throws, art work for my punch of color. Thanks so much for any assistance!

Molly Gray when i saw revere pewter by BM at someones house i loved it! It must've been a sunny room. It looked like sad battleship gray in the basement we just renovated where natural light is limited. It looked dark. I was surprized. So, we picked Litchfield Gray which is nice day or night. Seems to change colors between beige and greige depending on the light. Not overly exciting but very neutral. Works well w/ charcoal gray, or browns.

Mackin Drafting & Design I wasn't opposed to the color selections on the first two houses as much as I wondered why they took the time and money to use different types of siding to give the house some variety and character and then painted everything the same color. I think the house would have showed better if they would have added a different tone on one of these areas. Other than that, they look great.

custom-tiles.com Helpful hint on tile/grout joint effect on tile installations - your 12x12 tile is probably NOT really 12x12, so if you want to figure accurately enough to size the installation including grout width: know that 'nominal' size (e.g., 12x12) is not the ACTUAL size. Ask or check written specifications for the actual size, try to find out what the average variance of tile size from this figure is. Tumbled tile typically varies the most due to the rounding and chipping at the edges. Tiles with larger variances from the 'average size' require a wider grout line to aid the installer in making adjustments to align the tiles.

abigail822 Becca, the mirror came from Pier one for about $150. Cheaper to buy. When son moved here from California, he paid at least that much to move it, but preferred at design to what was available in suburban Phila at the time. It does go very well with the shimmery York wallcovering and vice versa. If you can't copy the photo give me your email address and I'll email it. If you have an ipad, put your finger on the photo until the screen says copy, then touch save image or something like that. Zoom in to see the wallpaper. Check out pier one for their cool mirrors.
